    Choose your voice

    Start with a standard voice, or choose optional voice cloning with your consent. You won’t need to clone your voice to use Yap-r.

  2. 02

    Hold the mic & speak

    Choose both languages, then say what you mean. Yap-r is designed to recognize your words, translate them and play the translation aloud.

  3. 03

    Keep the conversation going

    Hear the translation in the selected voice, then take turns. Each person can have their own language and voice choice.

Prepare useful phrases before your trip and play downloaded audio offline. Find nearby help and local emergency numbers; maps and nearby search require a connection.

Your voice, your choice

Choose what you share.

Cloud speech and translation need your permission. Voice cloning is a separate, optional choice. Here is how the modes in development differ.

Standard Cloud processing

Travel translation and language practice, with an optional personal voice powered by Fish Audio.

Strict controls conversation processing; it does not erase account records or disable every network service. Hosted voice cloning requires stored voice data; no zero-retention or HIPAA guarantee is offered. Final app privacy and retention details will be published before launch.

Drivers and passengers who don't share a language

Work through pickups, drop-offs and “two more minutes” with a language and voice selected for each person. Car interfaces are being tested separately before release.

Save useful phrases while you have a connection. Downloaded emergency audio can play without one. Yap-r does not replace emergency services or a qualified interpreter.

The honest FAQ.

Do I have to clone my voice?

No. You’ll be able to choose a standard voice. Voice cloning is optional and needs your consent and a recording. We’re testing how closely it preserves your voice across languages; results will depend on the sample and language.

What happens to my voice and my conversations?

Standard conversations use Fish Audio and text-processing services. Yap-r does not archive ordinary Live conversations; enrollment recordings, consent records and cached phrase audio have separate retention rules. You can request voice or account deletion and check its status. The final app notice and provider retention details are still being completed before launch.

Does it work offline?

Downloaded Emergency phrases work without a connection. Android Strict Live requires supported downloaded language tools; on-device Live is not yet available on iOS. Cloud translation and new lesson generation need a connection.

How many languages?

Our planned catalog contains 83 languages. A provider’s language listing does not guarantee the same recognition, translation or voice quality in every language. We’ll confirm tested launch availability before release.

How much will it cost?

Pricing and any free allowance will be announced before launch. Joining the waitlist is free and does not start a subscription.

Can I use it in my car?

CarPlay and Android Auto interfaces are in development. Device testing and platform approval are still required, so availability is not confirmed yet.
